Besides starting your own porn business...
At this point there are 2 options for getting into this industry.
Option 1. Submitting your pictures to several adult talent agencies to get work.
I would lean towards LADirectModels because they can really send you to the top
with many job opportunities.
Not to mention, they are owned by Vivid.
The only disadvantage is that you may not be ready to pack your bags and move
all the way to Los Angeles from the Mid-West.
Obviously, very expensive.
Option 2. Do what I did.
Create your own opportunity, and make your own films.
Many porn stars are doing the same thing.
For example Peter North and Tom Byron have there very own product lines (Online site, DVD's, etc.)
This works in both
the straight and gay/bi markets too.
Obviously, you already have a huge market online, men wanting to star in your
films, the price for cameras is now beyond affordable, you'll keep all the
money, retain all rights, and not have to move far away to achieve your dreams.
I'm a straight man, but the gay and bi markets are very successful money makers.
20 years ago, you would only have one choice (move to Los Angeles).
My advice
would be to capitalize on the second choice if you decide to stay in the
Mid-West, and create your own videos for a hungry market without having to give
up your life for the big move.
Obviously, the cost of moving is very expensive. Instead of moving you'll save a
lot of money, and use that money to create your own vision that you can share
with the adult buying world.
Plus, with your own material it will add major credibility.
With that credibility, you can skip signing up with a modeling
agency, and get the attention of adult producers directly for paying jobs too.
After you create your own material, working with models in the Mid-West (they
are there), a reputable adult producer will ask "Where can I see some of you
work"?
Boom, you'll already have something to show for. A major plus to show you
are a true working player.
